Celebrate National Wine Day with Your Furry Pal And A Glass of Pet-Friendly Wine!

If you’re a wine lover, I’ve got great news for you – May 25th is National Wine Day! It’s the perfect opportunity to crack a bottle of your favourite merlot, pour yourself a glass and enjoy a drink with your best furry friend. That’s right – today we’re talking about pet-friendly wine!

It has been said: The best wines are the ones we drink with friends.

However, if you consider your cat or dog to be your best friend, you may be feeling a little left out… Drinking together isn’t the same when your drinking buddy has nothing more than a bowl of water.

(Does it count as drinking alone if your four-legged friend is in the room?)

Good news! In 2015 a company out of Colorado came up with the solution! Inspired by his two adorable cats Apollo and Hades, Brandon created his first bottle of ‘cat wine’, a liquid catnip that provided cats everywhere with a bit of the fun that we experience after a bottle of wine (you know the feeling I’m talking about).

Brandon got his big break in 2017 when he appeared on the popular reality show ‘Shark Tank’, landing a deal with investor Kevin O’Leary. Pet-friendly wine was now making the headlines!

Today, Apollo Peak sells a variety of dog and cat wines, opening the door for you to enjoy a perfect ‘night in’ with your pet!

Each of the pet-friendly wines sold by Apollo Peak has an adorable cat or dog-inspired name like Pinot Meow Cat Wine, Moscato Cat Wine and Chardognay Dog Wine.

The names alone are enough to bring a smile to your face!

Not a wine drinker? With companies like Bowser Beer and Snuffle Dog Beer, anyone can enjoy a drink with their furry best friend!

Cheers!!!

  1. This is so cute! My furry guy needs to try a doggy brew. Of course, he’d love a pizza to go with it! Thanks for the recommendation.

  2. Awww this is so cute! I don’t have any pet right now but enjoying a glass of wine or two with one sounds really fun!

    1. Right? I hadn’t heard of it before discovering this company but now I feel like I need to make it happen – especially while on lockdown lol

    1. Definitely have to make up for it – maybe toast double, both to toast wine day and to toast being late for wine day 😉

  3. Now I’ve seen it all, pet-friendly wine! As an avid wine drinker, I definitely will be toasting our furry friends.

  4. You guys have a national wine day??? How soon can I move to Canada when flights are a thing again please? Hugo loves a tiny drop of the human stuff every now and then but we started getting him doggy wine recently and he loves it. The brand we have here is called Pawsecco which I think is absolutely adorable x

  5. Oh. My. Gosh. Never have I heard of this, and now I NEED some! This would be the perfect night in for me and my cat! Maybe he’d be less mean with some wine too! Wow! I seriously can’t wait to try this!

  6. My goodness, I had no idea about this, never heard of wine for pets or for that matter any of the brews you mentioned. I don’t know if its yet available in my country, but if yes, I am sure a lot of my friends who have cats would love it.

  7. I never knew there wine for pets. I doubt we ever try it because my husband and I don’t drink at all so our pups automatically go into same category

    1. I think it’s such a cute idea. I mean, obviously there’s no actual alcohol in it as that would be unhealthy for the animals, but the idea that there’s a ‘drink’ that they can enjoy is super cute!

  8. Oh wow how cool is this. Pet friendly wine, I know many people who will just love this for sure x
