Keep Your Kitty Happy with These 11 Entertainment Videos for Cats!
Raise your hand if you’ve ever found yourself lost in the black hole of adorable cat videos on YouTube… If so, you’re not alone! But what about when it’s your feline friend that’s bored? That’s when you need these entertainment videos for cats!
If this is your first time hearing about videos made specifically for cats, you’re about to discover one of the most hilarious inventions for cats everywhere!
While there are places that you can purchase these videos online, there are many different options available free right on YouTube.
That’s where I’m pulling today’s recommendations from!
If you follow ShedHappensBlog on TikTok, then you know that we recently introduced Pippen to a video that showcased a bunch of fish swimming across my laptop screen.
She was hilariously curious, looking on the screen and behind the computer!

Today I’m going to share with you a selection of videos that were tried and tested by our sweet little puffball Pippen.
Confession: Not ALL cats are going to get as excited about this. Jinx is our resident couch potato. She has no interest in most toys and she had no interest in most of these videos… There’s a reason she’s a little chunky, but we still love her!
These videos are easy to use. Simply start the video and click the ‘Fullscreen’ button in the bottom right corner (to remove any distractions and give your cat the full experience).
Place your cat in front of the computer and enjoy the hilarious entertainment!
One word of warning… Do NOT be surprised if this encourages your cat to pay more attention to your computer moving forward.
Since introducing Pippen to these videos, she has been far more obsessed with my computer (not that she wasn’t interested before).
This wouldn’t be a huge issue except that I use a touch screen computer. Every time that she decides to chase my cursor and paw at the screen, she opens things, closes windows, and more. Small oversight on my part…

If you have a touchscreen computer, you may want to stick with something safer like cat grass to keep your pet entertained.

Years ago when we lived in a flat I tried to find videos for our two cats to enjoy. They were not interested in the slightest, I had dirty looks for interrupting their snoozes, haha. I’ve not tried since we’ve been living in a house with a garden but your post has reminded me that Spooky loves wildlife programmes, he sits in front of the TV in fascination whenever any big cats are on, bless him! These videos look great for indoor cats though, I’m sure they’ll enjoy them 🙂 Lisa

I love seeing the videos of animals watching other animals on tv 🙂 My pups do not pay any attention to the tv until a dog barks on a show, then they are searching for the hiding dog.
My pups do that too. The other day we had to pause a movie because we were laughing too hard at our dogs searching for the hidden dog haha
LOL I’ve never heard of videos for my cat. I tried to show her a video and she walked away and looked at me like I was nuts. I’ll try my other cat when he wakes up.
Jinx will watch some of them, but she’s not overly interested. Pippen, however, goes crazy over them lol
This is hilarious. I love the fact that there are videos of birds and fish for cats to watch. My sister’s cat would just sit beside the fish tank and watch the fish so this is perfect.
I could seriously entertain Pippen for HOURS with the birds – that’s her favourite video.

Definitely have to be careful about that! In the video of Pippen, we were sitting on the couch. If she knocked the laptop backwards, it was just going to land on the couch safely lol

My dogs had no real interest in them, but I have heard others report their dogs chasing them like the cats do!
This sounds like so much fun! I did see the fish video before and it was so amusing, watching a kitten chasing the fish but I haven’t realised that there is such a wide choice when it comes to cat entertainment. What a great use of technology.
The fish video has been a go-to here, but it turns out Pip’s favourite is the live birds! She went CRAZY for that one!
I had no idea this was a thing! I could totally see cats getting into this. If it were me, it wouldn’t just be entertainment for them – I’m sure I’d crack up! I also find it funny that your lazy cat gets no amusement from it!

How fun! I remember years ago I had a video called like “while you were gone” or something that I would put on for my dog and I think that video trained him to watch tv! Now he’s always really interested in what is happening on the screen.
That is similar to what happened with my cat. I put these videos on for her and now she comes up to my laptop looking at the screen like she’s waiting for her videos lol

What a blast! I had so much fun watching some of these and imagining the reactions of a cat. Even watching the video of Pippen trying to work out the image on your laptop was so funny. How cool that they have videos made for them in the same way we enjoy stuff that is usually for us humans.

This is interesting. In my country cats stay outdoors most of the times, so I have not seen any of them being entertained…. hahaaa.. It is a very good idea though.
We have quite a few outdoor cats around here too but my two are both indoor cats – it’s safer for them. Less hazards.

I swear that my dog Mia watches television. She used to hate the movie the Lorax and would bark whenever the Lorax came on screen. She also perks up at the annual Westminster kennel show and any time there are horses on TV. I’m sure there are videos that exist for hounds as well.
I know there are DVDs that were made to entertain dogs when you’re not home, so I’m SURE there are also YouTube videos!
