BullyAndTheWeiner

I can’t put together a list of pet influencers you should follow without including Odie and Ella, the first pet influencers to really reach out and make me feel welcome in the community!

These two pups are adorable and hilarious, sharing their daily antics.

They are also great supporters of the pet community on Instagram, periodically sharing new accounts in their stories for everyone to check out.

Plus, their own content brightens my day each time I log in.

My favourite part about engaging with this account is that they are actively involved with the community that they are building.

Start a conversation and you can count on them responding.

After all, it is SOCIAL media, right?

TripawdsCommunity

This is an account that never fails to make me smile. Why?

It reminds me of the unconditional love that is shared between a pet and their owner.

The Tripawds Support Community is an online community focused on bringing together animal amputees and their humans.

Each adorable photo shares a story of love and commitment.

While I don’t currently share my home with a tripawd, I can’t help but fall in love with their uplifting content.

PawLifeCoffee

While this account isn’t technically a ‘pet influencer’ in the traditional sense, I definitely believe that it should be included on this list!

Paw Life Coffee Co. is a coffee business based in Nova Scotia.

How does that relate to the world of pet influencers?

For each sale, 10% of the proceeds are donated to local animal rescues organizations.

The owner of the company, Trina, is a proud pet momma herself.

Not only does this account share news about the business and the donations that she’s making, she always shares adorable photos of her own furry family members.

AllPetVoices

All Pet Voices is an account and a community aimed at educating pet lovers and pet owners on a wide variety of topics.

They share a wide variety of content for all different types of pets.

If you’re looking for a place to connect with other pet lovers, this is it!

In addition to the content on their Instagram account, make sure to check them out on Facebook.

Each week, they do live videos on different topics, bringing in knowledgeable guests. Watch for announcements on IG about upcoming lives!

CollarTown

Who doesn’t want to connect with someone local that shares the similar interests and strike up a friendship?

That’s exactly what has happened with Maggie from Collar Town and I!

Sure, she’s technically a pet business but in the modern day of social media, I feel like businesses can also be influencers in their own right… Especially small businesses where you really get to know the people (and pets) behind them.

She creates fun, unique and high-quality collars here in Ontario, Canada and ships them worldwide to pet lovers everywhere.

On her IG account, she not only shares her latest collar designs, but she also gives you the opportunity to get to know her dogs, Kira and Jacob.

Her website is currently under construction, but it will be launching soon!

Give her account a follow to make sure that you don’t miss out on all the fun.

HankTheMagicDragon

Here on Shed Happens, I pride myself on celebrating all types of pets.

So, why would my Instagram preferences be any different?

Hank the Magic Dragon is an adorable account dedicated to Hank and Ralph (a crested gecko).

This account is a great opportunity to connect with other reptile lovers as they share pictures and videos of Hank’s daily life along with some tips and the occasional product review.

If you want to mix up your IG feed a little, Hank is worth the follow!

MoetBlindCat

This is another account that does a great job of reminding everyone that ALL pets are special in their own way.

Moet is an adorable, fluffy and picturesque blind cat.

She may not be able to see, but that’s not holding her back from all that this life has to offer (especially with such a loving family).

This is another example of an account that uses their influence in a positive way.

The Moet Store is a non-profit store, raising funds for animal rescue organizations by selling clothing, mugs, toes, phone cases and more.

Emilia is a cat blogger that I have had the pleasure of getting to know in the pet community online.

She writes all about how to ‘give your cat the best life possible’ on her blog Life & Cats.

This includes information about cat-related nutrition, travelling with cats, explanations of cat behaviour and more.

On her Instagram account, she shares some great information for cat lovers.

Tip Tuesday provides quick tips and tricks and Wednesday Wisdom dives into important cat-related topics.

Pain in cats is difficult to diagnose. Cats are masters of hiding their pain. Behavior changes such as decreased grooming, difficulty in jumping on or off furniture; hiding; changes in litter box habits or sleep patterns; reluctance to be petted; and poor appetite can indicate pain in cats. Unfortunately, there are not a lot of medical options for pain relief for to cats. Never treat your cat with “people drugs” unless instructed by your vet #animalpainawarenessmonth #painawarenessmonth #happyhealthcats #wellnesswednesday #wednesdaywisdom #lifencats #cats #lovecats #catlove #ilovemycat #catlovers #ilovecats #catworld #catcare #kittykittykitty #meowmeow #catladylife #catblogging #catbloggers

Another great blogger that you should follow is Jodi from Kol’s Notes.

On her blog, she shares recipes for DIY dog treats, tips for cleaning with dogs, and other valuable information for dog parents everywhere.

Meanwhile, on Instagram, we have a chance to enjoy the daily adventures of her puggle Kolchak.

This is another account that is actively engaged with her followers, meaning that you can strike up a conversation and build a relationship with her.

If you’re interested in connecting with other dog lovers, this is a great place to do just that!

Your_Two_Favorite_Pits

If you’ve been following me for any length of time on social media, you’ve likely heard my views on breed-specific legislation (BSL).

Spoiler (for those who aren’t) – I’m TOTALLY against it!

If you share my views and can’t get enough adorable pittie content, this is an account that you MUST check out!

Cali and Archie are both so sweet and their content never fails to make me smile.

Who wouldn’t fall in love with those faces?

PetsAreFound

Where Pets Are Found is a unique account that is most definitely worth the follow!

They use the platform and voice that they have created to share pets that are currently missing around the world.

By sharing their pictures and information, they increase the chances that someone is going to help reunite these loved pets with the families that miss them.

Do your part by following the account and sharing their content (especially for pets from your area).

  1. Great list. I’m following some of these accounts already, but there are some that are new to me as well! I’m especially interested in checking out the Wear Wag Repeat podcast! I love listening to podcasts while I work and haven’t heard of that one before.

    1. It’s a great podcast! I often have it going when I’m getting stuff done around the house. I love listening to podcasts when I’m folding laundry or washing dishes – making use of time that is otherwise boring.

    1. No one has the time to be everywhere, that’s a struggle we all face 🙂 I’m nowhere near as active on some of my social media platforms as I’d like to be (Instagram included) honestly, but I am doing what I can to try to be more active and engaged on my blogging accounts at least!

    1. That account is SO important and SO powerful. By following and sharing content from that platform, we could make a world of difference for those pet parents that are trying to find their missing pets.

  2. Why is it that Instagram just doesn’t want to click with me? Probably because I never upload anything directly from my phone? I cannot bond with that platform, even though everybody says how great it is.

    1. I went through that feeling for a long time. But then, I learned that I can upload via Later on my computer or using the Byond extension on Chrome. Both allow you to upload from your computer, which is where I do a lot of mine.

  3. I follow some of these, mostly the dragon (big fan) and the cats who I have followed for ages. Moet is such a special cat and so damned fluffy,
I keep feeling I need to follow more reptiles. they are so much to say and I can learn a lot about them from their family’s posts. OK you inspired me I need to go find more reptiles!!

    1. Right? I love following different types of pets from those that I have at home because I can learn SO much! I’m not completely inexperienced with reptiles, but I have still learned a lot from Hank’s account.

  4. Hey Britt, how is it that I have never heard of any of these pet accounts?! They’re so cute, and I’ve got to follow some of them after I post this comment. Thanks for sharing! On a side note, I think we purchased our blog theme from the same designer! =D

    1. I LOVE following pet accounts! They totally brighten my day anytime I log onto the platform!
I’m using a theme from Solopine, are you too? I LOVE them! So easy to work with!
