I often get questions from pet parents asking about which pet products we prefer and use personally for our ‘pack’.
As someone who has lived with pets my whole life, I have had the chance to try a wide assortment of different brands and options.
The recommendations that I have listed below are products that we use and trust in our daily lives.
Believe me, we don’t trust just ANYTHING with our pets!

PetSafe
The PetSafe brand of products is one that has been trusted in my family for YEARS.
As a child, we used their Gentle Leader Headcollar for the family dog. It allowed everyone in the family, kids included, to walk our large German Shepherd/Husky mix pup Akela.
This is the same harness that I have used for the 11+ years that I have owned my girl Daviana!
In fact, we use PetSafe brand harnesses for all our pets including the Easy Walk Harness for our boy Indiana and the Come with Me Cat Harness for both Jinx and Pippen.
Carlson Pet Products
If you follow the Shed Happens Instagram account, then you know that we are big fans of taking our dogs camping.
Using an elevated pet bed is not only added comfort for the pups, it also helps to cool them down on a hot day by allowing for airflow underneath.
As a bonus, the Carlson Pet Products Portable Pup Pet Bed folds up just like a camp chair for easy portability.

Outward Hound
Another company that we have come to trust as a family for a variety of different products is Outward Hound.
We LOVE outdoor travel including camping, hiking, canoeing, kayaking, etc.
Outward Hound has always played an important role in our adventures as the company behind the DayPak Dog Backpack as well as the Granby Ripstop Life Jacket.
Another Outward Hound product that we use regularly is the Fun Feeder Slo Bowl.
Indy has a tendency to INHALE his food. The Fun Feeder helps to slow him down so that he can eat without making himself sick.
